2: General workflow

Once your point clouds have been loaded into SolidWorks via the plug-in, you’ll want to work with them. Below, we’ve suggested a workflow that you could use to get the best from your point clouds:

1. Orientate the point cloud (see section 3.3.2)
2. Set the point cloud Origin (see section 3.3.1)
3. Professional users: clean the point cloud using the delete function (see section 3.6)
4. Perform a Shader for a quick inspection of elevation changes (see section 3.7)
5. Perform Slices and Clipping (see section 3.5 for slicing and section 3.6 for clipping)
